Mounting your sign
A finished sign still has to go somewhere: on a spirit stick, a yard stake, a door, or a wall. These are the pieces that put it there, sized for what you’re mounting it on.
Mounting pieces
Which one, where
On a stick, a stake, or a pipe: the sign clip. Two clips, a few inches apart, keep a sign from turning on a round rod. Measure the rod: the clip’s inside is set a little under it so it snaps on and stays.
On a door or a wall: the door sign, which has its screw holes built in. Any other sign goes up with double-sided mounting tape on a clean, smooth surface.
Questions
- Do the mounting pieces cost credits?
- No. They’re free to download once you’re signed in, as many as you need.
- What glue should I use?
- Super glue (CA) or a two-part epoxy holds PLA and PETG well. Scuff both faces with sandpaper first, and let epoxy cure overnight before the sign goes outside.
- Will it hold up outdoors?
- For a season of games, yes. For longer in the sun, print the clip and the sign in PETG or ASA: PLA softens in a hot car or on a sunny fence.
