A clip to mount a sign on a dowel or PVC pipe
Glue it to the back of a sign and snap it onto the rod. Tell it what the rod is and how long the clip should be, and it’s built to fit. It’s free: no credits needed.
Questions
- What is it for?
- Mounting a flat sign on a round post: a spirit sign on a stick, a yard sign on a stake, a name plate on a garden marker. Glue the clip to the back of the sign and snap it onto the rod.
- How do I get the size right?
- Measure the rod with calipers if you have them. Dowels are often a little under their size, and PVC pipe is sold by a size that isn’t its width: 1/2" pipe is 21.3 mm across. The inside is set 0.3 mm under your rod, which snapped on and held without glue in our test prints.
- What glue holds it to the sign?
- Super glue (CA) or a two-part epoxy on PLA or PETG. Scuff the flat pad and the back of the sign first. For a sign on a stick, use two clips a few inches apart so it can’t turn.
- How do I print it?
- As it comes, standing on the C, with no supports, in one filament. That way its layers run around the rod, so the arms flex open to snap on instead of splitting.
- Does it cost credits?
- No. The clip is free: sign in and download as many as you need.
